Welcome to Billings American Legion Post 4 Baseball

We are proud and grateful to have the support of alumni players, members of the community, and the many businesses who help us with donations, discounts, advertising purchases and services. As you may or may not know, generous donors are our only source of funds for the Program. These funds are used to continue the proud tradition of American Legion Baseball in Billings, Montana.

Sign ups

Sign-ups for the 2012 Billings American Legion Baseball Program will be held on Sunday, February 12th at 4 PM at the Hampton Inn located on Southgate Dr.

Wednesday, February 29th physicals will be held at 3:45pm at Billings Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center 2702 8th Ave North, 238-5200. The cost is $20.00 and remember even though you had a physical for a School sport it only goes through June 2012 whereas this physical goes all the way till next Feb. 2013.

Sunday March 4 at 4pm will be the Sign-up Packet Turn In at the Hampton Inn where Coach's will address the Try-out/Training Camp questions.

New coach announced

Shawn Murphy has been hired as the new coach of the Billings Royals for the 2012 season. Shawn was living in Irving, Texas working as a police officer in the Dallas area as well as coaching high school baseball when he accepted the offer to coach the Royals. Coach Murphy was a baseball and football standout at Coachella Valley High School in Southern California where he lettered 3 years at the varsity level in both baseball and football. Coach Murphy attended the University of Concordia on a sports scholarship playing baseball and football. Coach Murphy was the head coach at Class 3A Harvest Christian Academy in 2007-08; the head coach at Class 4A Carrollton Christian Academy in 2009-10; and the freshman coach and varsity pitching coach at Class 5A Nolan Catholic High School in 2011.

The Billings American Baseball program is proud to welcome Coach Murphy into our program and we are excited for the Royals in the coming years. Shawn's first order of business will be to hire his coaching staff for both the Blue Jays and the Royals.

Adam Hust is the manager of the Billings Scarlets. Adam is a former catcher for the Scarlets from 1991-1993 and played on the 1993 State Championship Team. Adam played college baseball at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas (1994-1995) and at Division 1 Oral Roberts University (1996-1997). He played summer baseball in the Jayhawk League and the Cape Cod League. From 1998-2000, Adam was an assistant coach at Hutchinson. Adam has managed the Scarlets for five years.

Adam is currently searching for a new head coach for the Cardinals, as well as searching for assistant coaches at both the Scarlets and Cardinals levels.

We are proud to have these fine men as our coaches for the upcoming season.
