BALB is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization that annually raises 100% of its operating funds. Our primary fundraising activities are:
Efforts are year-round and require a significant time commitment by board members, players, and player parents.
Fundraising related to regular season play includes season sponsorships, game sponsorships, poster advertising, field signs, program sales, and ticket sales (season passes and individual tickets).
The annual Hall of Fame Banquet and Auction is BALB’s largest fundraising event. Held each spring, the event features a dinner, silent and live auctions, inductions into the BALB Hall of Fame, and presentation of the Dave McNally Friend of Billings American Legion Baseball Award and the Les Smith Memorial Sportsmanship Award.
This raffle awards 45 top-quality handguns, rifles, and shotguns by makers including Browning, Savage, Remington, Smith & Wesson, Weatherby, and Tikka to lucky winners drawn over a period of 45 days. Tickets go on sale in late fall for drawing in the early months of the following year. Winning tickets go back into the drawing, giving each ticket 45 chances to win. Guns awarded in the raffle are purchased by BALB.
Primary event sponsors include Cat Country KCTR 102.9 and Holiday Stores. Cat Country promotes the raffle and announces winning tickets.
Information on the current-year raffle (rules, prizes, tickets sales, winners) is posted as a quicklink on the BALB website home page prior to and during the raffle (approx. Nov.-March).
Winners of this raffle are announced at Royals/Scarlets games throughout the regular season. Prizes vary from year to year and typically include jewelry, electronics, and travel packages. Winning tickets are returned to the drawing for additional chances to win. Tickets are sold by members of the Royals, Scarlets, Blue Jays, and Cardinals and go on sale after team selection in the spring.
This BALB-sponsored basketball tournament in Billings is held annually in January for girls and boys grades 4-8. Prizes are awarded to the first place teams in each age division. All proceeds from team registration and concessions go to BALB. Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Information on the current-year tournament will be accessible from the website home page as it becomes available.
This annual “AA” invitational tournament hosted by the Royals and Scarlets is held in late June/early July. The primary venues are Dehler Park and Pirtz Field in Billings.
